This outstanding set of Chippendale-style dining chairs was created from designs by Thomas Chippendale, one of history's most celebrated artisans. A testimony to the incredible workmanship inspired by Chippendale, these chairs not only display marvelous pierced back splats and intricately carved legs, but also feature fine cushioned seats upholstered in supple leather. Fashioned from handsome mahogany, the set is comprised of 10 side chairs and two armchairs. To find an original, unbroken set of this caliber is exceptional.
Very similar designs are featured in Chippendale's definitive text The Gentleman & Cabinet-Maker's Director.
